BTN Profit Reaches Rp2.71 Trillion as Housing Financing Expands

Swan.my.id - Jakarta, BTN profit reached Rp2.71 trillion through August 2026, rising 35.89 percent year on year from Rp1.99 trillion in the same period last year. The growth came alongside stronger consolidated credit and financing expansion.

PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk, or BTN, recorded consolidated credit and financing of Rp431.60 trillion through August 2026. The figure grew 14.98 percent year on year. Consolidated assets also increased 16.60 percent to Rp561.84 trillion.

BTN President Director Nixon L.P. Napitupulu said the performance strengthened the bank’s capacity to perform its intermediation function and expand access to housing financing. He said the broader impact should reach not only prospective homeowners but also businesses across the housing ecosystem.

BTN Profit Supported by Credit Growth and Efficiency

BTN’s stronger results were also supported by improved funding cost efficiency. Consolidated interest expenses fell 8.21 percent year on year to Rp11.28 trillion through August 2026, compared with approximately Rp12.29 trillion in the same period a year earlier.

The decline in interest expenses occurred while the bank continued expanding its intermediation business. As a result, lower funding costs helped support the increase in BTN profit during the period.

From the funding side, consolidated third-party funds, including those of Bank Syariah Nasional (BSN), reached Rp446.06 trillion. The amount grew 11.11 percent year on year and consisted of Rp174.29 trillion in current accounts, Rp46.72 trillion in savings, and Rp225.05 trillion in deposits.

BTN Expands Housing Financing Access

Nixon said BTN would continue pursuing healthy credit and financing growth by strengthening its funding base. The bank also plans to expand the reach of BTN and BSN services.

“We want BTN’s business growth to create an increasingly broad impact on the housing sector and the economy,” Nixon said.

BTN is strengthening its role in the housing ecosystem through financing on both the supply and demand sides. Through the Housing Program Credit, or KPP, the bank has distributed cumulative financing of Rp7.4 trillion since the program was launched.

The KPP distribution consisted of Rp5.4 trillion in KPP Supply financing and Rp2.0 trillion in KPP Demand financing. The figures reflect BTN’s focus on supporting housing development while also improving access for people seeking home ownership.

Support for TOD Housing and Property Access

In August 2026, BTN supported the development of the Manggarai Transit Oriented Development project. The project is planned to provide 3,784 housing units across eight towers and connect the residential area with public transportation.

The bank also supported efforts to connect housing supply with public demand through the Danantara Housing Expo 2026. The exhibition presented more than 120,000 property choices from over 130 state-owned and private developers.

The event also provided access to various housing financing schemes. Through these initiatives, BTN aims to strengthen its contribution to the housing sector while expanding financing options for communities and other participants in the property ecosystem.

BTN’s Next Focus

BTN said it would maintain healthy credit and financing growth while continuing to strengthen its funding and service network. The bank views stronger fundamentals as a foundation for increasing its capacity to support housing financing needs.

“With increasingly stronger fundamentals, our capacity to support housing financing needs will also grow,” Nixon said.

The company’s performance through August shows the relationship between credit expansion, funding management, and housing-sector support. BTN’s next challenge will be maintaining that growth while continuing to broaden access to financing.
