Swan.my.id - Jakarta, Chery has revealed technical details of the iCAR V27 Long-Range Edition ahead of its official launch in late September 2026. The boxy SUV gains a larger battery, longer claimed driving range and upgraded power delivery for external devices.
The new model uses a 51.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery supplied by CATL. That capacity is about 49.3 percent greater than the 34.3 kWh battery in the previous version, according to a report by CarNewsChina.
Chery says the larger battery helps the V27 travel up to 300 kilometers on a single charge under the CLTC test cycle. Its estimated range under WLTP is around 215 kilometers. Those figures give buyers two different reference points, as the test procedures differ.
iCAR V27 Long-Range boosts battery and driving range
The CLTC figure represents an increase of about 90 to 100 kilometers over the previous version, which delivered around 200 to 210 kilometers under the same standard. The battery upgrade therefore accounts for a substantial part of the Long-Range Edition’s changes.
Charging performance also improves. Chery claims that DC fast charging can take the battery from 30 percent to 80 percent in approximately 17 minutes. The company has not provided other charging-time figures in the details it announced.
Meanwhile, the vehicle-to-load (V2L) function can now supply up to 6 kW to external electrical devices. The earlier version offered 3.3 kW. This increase gives the V27 greater capacity to power compatible equipment away from a charging point.
Dual-motor AWD system delivers 335 kW
The Long-Range Edition retains an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) setup. Two electric motors form an all-wheel-drive system and produce a combined maximum output of 335 kW, equivalent to about 449 horsepower.
A 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine supports the electric drivetrain by acting as a generator. The V27 therefore keeps its electric-drive configuration while using the engine to provide energy for the system.
The SUV measures 4,909 millimeters in length. Including the rear-mounted spare wheel, its overall length reaches about 5,055 mm. It is 1,976 mm wide and 1,894 mm tall, with a 2,910 mm wheelbase.
Falcon 700 adds LiDAR and computing hardware
Chery also equips the Falcon 700 variant with LiDAR mounted on the roof. That version uses a Horizon Robotics Journey 6P chip with computing capability of up to 560 TOPS to support intelligent driving features.
The additional hardware distinguishes the Falcon 700 from the general powertrain and battery details announced for the Long-Range Edition. The information provided does not specify which individual driving functions the LiDAR and chip support.
Updated V27 enters a competitive China segment
The product update comes as V27 sales in China have declined after reaching 4,184 units in April. Monthly sales then fell consecutively, reaching 1,609 units in August. The figures show a change in the model’s sales performance during that period.
In China, the iCAR V27 competes in the boxy hybrid SUV segment. Its rivals include the Changan Deepal G318, Jetour Shanhai T2 and BYD Fang Cheng Bao Bao 5.
With a larger battery, a claimed 300-kilometer CLTC range, quicker DC charging and higher-output V2L, the Long-Range Edition expands the V27’s electric capabilities. Chery plans to launch it officially in late September 2026.
