Swan.my.id - Jakarta, PT Dharma Polimetal Tbk (DRMA) is strengthening its position in Indonesia’s electric vehicle ecosystem through a DRMA EV component partnership with global automotive supplier Minth Group.
The two companies have established a joint venture called PT Dharma Minth Indonesia. The new entity will focus on producing electric vehicle components for leading automotive brands in global markets.
DRMA President Director Irianto Santoso said the partnership responds to the growing use of electric vehicles and the expanding market for supporting components. He made the statement in an official release on Thursday, September 17, 2026.
DRMA EV Component Partnership Expands Product Portfolio
Through PT Dharma Minth Indonesia, DRMA will add several electric vehicle components that it has not previously produced. The product portfolio will include battery housing, body and chassis structures with aluminum extrusion, and plastic component design.
The new product range is expected to strengthen the Dharma Group’s manufacturing capabilities. It also provides an opportunity for DRMA to reach new customers and expand into international markets.
Minth Group brings an established global network to the partnership. The company is known as an automotive component supplier that works with more than 80 leading brands in the global automotive industry.
“Our hope is that this strategic partnership will also open opportunities for DRMA to penetrate new customers,” Irianto said.
Joint Venture Invests Rp 45 Billion
PT Dharma Minth Indonesia has an initial investment value of Rp 45 billion. Minth Group holds a 51 percent majority stake, while Dharma Group owns the remaining 49 percent.
The joint venture will use an existing Dharma Group production facility in MM2100 Industrial Town, Cibitung, West Java. The plant is scheduled to begin effective operations in the second quarter of 2027.
Using an existing facility allows the partnership to build on infrastructure already owned by Dharma Group. However, the companies will focus the new operation on components specifically designed for electric vehicles.
Technology Transfer and New Revenue Potential
DRMA views the partnership as a long-term step to support future business growth. The company expects the cooperation to deliver technology transfer and create a new revenue growth engine for Dharma Group.
“We are optimistic that, at least, this cooperation will provide two positive benefits for Dharma Group: technology transfer and the formation of a new revenue growth engine,” Irianto said.
The partnership also reflects the broader shift in automotive manufacturing toward electric vehicle components. For DRMA, cooperation with Minth Group can connect its local production capabilities with a global supplier network.
With production targeted for 2027, PT Dharma Minth Indonesia will become part of DRMA’s strategy to expand its electric vehicle portfolio. The company is also positioning the joint venture to serve new customers as demand for EV-related components continues to develop.
