KAI Adds Gajayana Extra Train to Support Passenger Mobility
Swan.my.id - Jakarta, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has added train services and passenger capacity to accommodate increased mobility and anticipate the impact of volcanic activity at Mount Anak Krakatau.
In the Daop 7 Madiun area, KAI is operating the Gajayana Extra Train on the Malang–Madiun–Gambir route. The additional service is intended to expand access to rail transportation while maintaining passenger safety and comfort.
The train departs from Malang Station at 8:15 p.m. It then passes through Blitar Station, arrives at 9:49 p.m. and departs at 9:51 p.m., before continuing to Kediri Station.
Gajayana Extra Train Schedule
At Kediri Station, the train arrives at 10:47 p.m. and departs at 10:50 p.m. The service reaches Madiun Station at 12:24 a.m. and leaves again at 12:29 a.m.
The schedule provides an additional travel option for passengers using the Malang–Madiun–Gambir route. KAI has adjusted its services while considering the readiness of facilities, infrastructure, and safety aspects.
KAI Prioritizes Safety and Comfort
Tohari, Public Relations Manager of Daop 7 Madiun, said the adjustment focuses on ensuring safe and comfortable access to train transportation.
“KAI continues to ensure that people have access to safe and comfortable rail transportation through travel service adjustments. Every travel arrangement considers the readiness of facilities, infrastructure, and safety aspects,” Tohari said on Sunday, September 6, 2026, in a press release.
Passengers Urged to Monitor Travel Information
Amid the alert situation surrounding Mount Anak Krakatau’s volcanic activity, KAI advises passengers to maintain their health and use masks when necessary.
Passengers are also encouraged to monitor schedules through the Access by KAI application. KAI asks customers to arrive at the station earlier, confirm their travel schedules, and follow staff instructions.
These steps are expected to help the journey run safely and comfortably, particularly as passenger mobility increases and volcanic activity requires closer attention to travel arrangements.
