Swan.my.id - Jakarta, Rentokil Indonesia has expanded its electric vehicle fleet with 80 additional Polytron FOX 350 units, bringing the total number of Polytron electric motorcycles used in its operations to 325 units.
The handover took place on September 19, 2026, coinciding with Polytron’s 51st anniversary in Indonesia. The new motorcycles will support Rentokil’s field teams, who travel between homes, buildings, and other customer locations as part of pest control and hygiene services.
Rentokil has used electric motorcycles in its operations since 2024. The fleet now serves several areas, including Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi, Bandung, Bali, and Surabaya. The transition means field workers no longer rely entirely on gasoline-powered motorcycles for their daily activities.
Polytron FOX 350 Supports Rentokil’s Field Operations
Rentokil selected the Polytron FOX 350 for work that requires frequent travel and the transport of pest control equipment. Workers place their equipment inside the rear box before visiting customer locations throughout the day.
The motorcycle carries an IP67 certification from Sucofindo, which indicates resistance to dust and water. This feature supports operations in different outdoor conditions, particularly because Rentokil employees often travel between multiple sites during working hours.
Besides its field capability, the FOX 350 can help reduce monthly fuel and maintenance costs. For Rentokil, those savings complement the company’s decision to adopt electric vehicles as part of its environmental efforts.
“Rentokil Indonesia currently uses many electric vehicles while supporting the use of environmentally friendly energy. We hope this initiative will enable Rentokil Indonesia to contribute to reducing carbon emissions in Indonesia,” said Budi Santoso, Human Resources Director of Rentokil Indonesia.
Electric Fleet Has Traveled 585 Million Kilometers
The 325 motorcycles assigned to Rentokil represent one part of Polytron’s broader electric vehicle deployment in Indonesia. Ilman Fachrian Fadly, Head of Group Product EV 2W at Polytron, said the company’s entire electric motorcycle fleet in Indonesia has traveled more than 585 million kilometers cumulatively.
That distance reflects the use of Polytron electric motorcycles in various operational settings. The company previously supplied more than 500 electric motorcycles to PLN UID East Java during the first half of 2026. Polytron also delivered 72 FOX 350 units to PT Semen Padang during the same period.
According to Ilman, the accumulated distance has helped reduce carbon emissions by more than 7.1 million kilograms of CO2e. He said the figure equals the environmental contribution of planting 322,727 mature trees.
“This is in line with the government’s commitment to achieving Net Zero Emissions 2060,” said Ilman Fachrian Fadly.
Polytron Expands Its Electric Vehicle Ecosystem
Polytron began its manufacturing activities in Kudus and Demak in September 1975. The company became known through products such as audio equipment, televisions, and refrigerators before expanding into electric motorcycles.
Today, Polytron says it has built an electric motorcycle community with nearly 70,000 users. The growing user base accompanies the company’s expansion into commercial and institutional fleets.
For Rentokil, the use of electric motorcycles connects environmental goals with practical field requirements. Employees can continue visiting customers across several cities while using vehicles that produce no exhaust emissions during operation.
Meanwhile, the addition of 80 FOX 350 units strengthens a fleet that has operated since 2024. The expansion also illustrates how electric motorcycles can support demanding service activities, including pest control and hygiene operations that require regular movement between locations.
A Wider Role for Electric Motorcycles
The 325-unit Rentokil fleet may represent only a portion of the vehicles on Indonesian roads. However, its operational use demonstrates the growing role of electric motorcycles beyond personal transportation.
Polytron’s reported distance and emissions figures also show the scale of electric motorcycle use across its wider fleet. As more companies adopt similar vehicles, electric motorcycles may continue to serve logistics, maintenance, and other field-based activities.
For now, Rentokil’s expanded fleet marks another step in its transition away from conventional fuel for daily operations. The Polytron FOX 350 will continue supporting teams across multiple Indonesian cities while contributing to the company’s carbon reduction efforts.
