Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and S12+ Debut With Dimensity 9500

Swan.my.id - Jakarta, Samsung has introduced the Galaxy Tab S12 series globally, unveiling the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+ on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. Both tablets use MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset, 120 Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays, Galaxy AI features and an S Pen included in the box.

The new models succeed the Galaxy Tab S11 series, which Samsung introduced in 2025. The Ultra has a 14.6-inch screen, while the S12+ offers a 12.6-inch display. Samsung describes the lineup as its most powerful tablet series to date.

Samsung says the new 3-nanometer processor improves NPU processing by up to 61 percent, CPU performance by 19 percent and GPU performance by 17 percent compared with the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. The company has also kept both tablets slim, measuring 5.1 mm for the Ultra and 5.3 mm for the Plus.

Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra specifications

The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra pairs its 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a resolution of 2,960 x 1,848 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1,600 nits. Vision Booster adjusts screen brightness in real time to suit ambient lighting.

The tablet measures 208.5 x 326.3 x 5.1 mm. Its Wi-Fi version weighs 692 grams, while the 5G model weighs 695 grams. Samsung pairs the Dimensity 9500 with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Users can add a microSD card with capacity up to 2 TB.

On the back, a 13-megapixel main camera sits alongside an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera. The front camera uses a 12-megapixel ultrawide sensor. The 11,600 mAh battery supports 45-watt fast charging, and Samsung says a full charge takes about 95 minutes. The company also claims up to 23 hours of use on a charge.

A redesigned 3D Vapor Chamber helps manage heat during demanding tasks such as video editing and graphic design. Other features include IP68 water and dust resistance, an in-screen fingerprint sensor, four speakers with 4-channel Spatial Audio, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and 5G support.

What the Galaxy Tab S12+ offers

The smaller Galaxy Tab S12+ has a 12.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with 2,800 x 1,752-pixel resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1,600 nits. Its display is larger than the 11-inch screen on the previous Galaxy Tab S11+. Samsung says slimmer bezels provide more screen space without making the tablet excessively large.

The S12+ also includes the Dimensity 9500, 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, expandable by up to 2 TB with microSD. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 12-megapixel ultrawide front camera. Its 10,600 mAh battery supports 45-watt fast charging, and Samsung claims up to 21 hours of use.

The tablet measures 187.8 x 289.5 x 5.3 mm and weighs 553 grams for Wi-Fi or 555 grams for 5G. Connectivity includes 5G, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 6.0. Four speakers support 4-channel Spatial Audio.

Galaxy AI, software and availability

Both tablets run Android 17 with One UI 9. Galaxy AI features include Note Assist, which can summarize notes, and Multi Window, which divides the screen into three sections. Users can take notes, play course materials and use an AI assistant at the same time. The included S Pen supports writing, annotations and sketching.

Samsung is also offering a six-month Google AI Pro trial, which includes access to Gemini and Gemini Notebook. The company lists productivity and creative apps such as Adobe Photoshop, Notability, Goodnotes, LumaFusion, Notion and Clip Studio Paint, with trial periods or special offers. Separate Pro Keyboard and Book Cover Keyboard Slim accessories can give the tablets a laptop-style setup.

Samsung has not announced global prices. It says the Galaxy Tab S12 series will become available in selected markets from October 7, 2026, without naming each market. In Indonesia, Samsung is running Reservation+ through October 31. Customers can reserve the “latest Galaxy Tab” with a Rp 300,000 deposit and receive a Rp 1.5 million checkout discount; the deposit counts toward that discount.

Samsung Indonesia lists October 7 as the start of e-voucher redemption, suggesting a possible local availability date. However, the company has yet to confirm the Indonesian launch date or prices for either tablet.
