Xiaomi Pad 9 and Pad 9 Pro Debut with Snapdragon Chips

Swan.my.id - Jakarta, Xiaomi has launched the Xiaomi Pad 9 and Pad 9 Pro in China on September 14, 2026. The two tablets arrive about a week after the company introduced the higher-end Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max.

Unlike the Pro Max, the Xiaomi Pad 9 and Pad 9 Pro do not use Xiaomi’s in-house Xring O3 chipset. Instead, Xiaomi equips both models with Snapdragon processors, with the Pro version positioned above the regular model in terms of specifications.

The Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, while the standard Pad 9 runs on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. Both tablets also feature displays with refresh rates of up to 144 Hz, matching one of the key display features offered by the Pro Max.

Xiaomi Pad 9 and Pad 9 Pro Offer Different Battery Capacities

The two tablets have different battery capacities and charging capabilities. Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro carries an 11,000 mAh battery with support for 67-watt charging.

Meanwhile, the standard Xiaomi Pad 9 packs a 9,720 mAh battery and supports 45-watt charging. The Pro model also supports wired reverse charging at up to 22.5 watts, allowing it to supply power to another compatible device through a cable.

These differences reinforce the positioning of the Pad 9 Pro as the more capable model. However, both tablets share a high refresh rate, which can support smoother scrolling and motion on the screen.

Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Uses a 12.5-Inch 144Hz Display

The Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro features a 12.5-inch LCD with a resolution of 3,200 x 2,136 pixels. Its display has a 144 Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 1,000 nits.

The screen uses a 3:2 aspect ratio and supports 12-bit color depth, DCI-P3 color coverage, HDR10, HDR Vivid, and Dolby Vision. Xiaomi also includes Circadian Friendly and Flicker-Free certifications.

In addition, the panel supports hardware-level low blue light technology and a wet touch feature. The latter is designed to keep touch input usable when the user’s hands are wet.

Camera and Performance Details

For photography and video, the Pad 9 Pro has a 50-megapixel rear camera capable of recording video at up to 4K resolution. The front camera has a 32-megapixel resolution for video calls and online meetings.

On the performance side, the tablet uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip manufactured with a 3-nanometer process. Xiaomi pairs the processor with up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage.

The available details show that Xiaomi is taking two different approaches within the Pad 9 lineup. The regular Pad 9 offers the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, a 9,720 mAh battery, and 45-watt charging, while the Pro model adds a more powerful Snapdragon chip, a larger battery, faster charging, reverse charging, and a more detailed display specification.

Positioning Within the Xiaomi Pad 9 Series

The launch expands Xiaomi’s latest tablet family after the arrival of the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max. The Pad 9 and Pad 9 Pro sit below that top model while bringing Snapdragon-based performance to the lineup.

With a 144 Hz display on both models, the series continues to focus on smooth visual performance. Meanwhile, the Pad 9 Pro stands out through its higher-end chipset, 50-megapixel rear camera, 32-megapixel front camera, and expanded charging features.
