Swan.my.id - MOTU M3 and M5 mark the latest additions to the company’s Sport EV lineup, bringing two different visual approaches to its expanding electric two-wheeler range. The brand introduced the models through posts on its official Instagram account, @motusportev, on October 19 and 20.
The announcements follow MOTU’s introduction of its Sport EV development plan in September 2026. While the posts spotlight styling and character, they do not yet provide technical specifications or confirm when either model will go on sale.
MOTU M3 and M5 take different design routes
M3 pairs red-orange and white bodywork with angular surfaces and a sharply shaped front end. Its styling aims for a bold, sporty appearance rather than the familiar look of a conventional electric scooter.
MOTU presents the M3 as a Sport EV that combines bold design, smart technology and an agile character. Its promotional message reads, “Bold design. Sporty attitude. Ready to own every move,” while the model’s slogan is “Ride the Edge.”
Those descriptions outline the impression the company wants the M3 to convey, but they do not explain how its technology works or what makes its ride feel agile. For now, the visual design and brand language provide the clearest picture of the model’s intended personality.
The M5 takes a different approach. It wears bright green and black, with a substantial-looking body, a sharply styled front light and red accents on its wheels.
MOTU describes the M5 as combining a solid body design with modern technology and a more refined riding experience. Its slogan, “Own the Ride,” gives the model a distinct promotional identity alongside the M3.
Two models, two intended personalities
The contrast between the scooters is apparent in their colours and overall forms. The M3’s red-orange and white finish, angular body and “Ride the Edge” line emphasize a brisk, assertive image. The M5’s green-and-black palette and heavier visual presence create a different impression.
That distinction gives MOTU room to present more than one design character within its Sport EV range. However, the available announcements do not establish whether the models differ in performance, equipment, intended use or price. Their contrasting appearances should not be treated as evidence of different technical capabilities.
Instead, the reveal establishes the M3 and M5 as separate additions to a product family that MOTU plans to build over time. Further details will be needed to show how each scooter fits into the lineup beyond its styling and promotional description.
The reveals fit a wider MOTU product roadmap
MOTU outlined its broader direction at the MOTU SPORT EV Global Brand Launch 2026 in Nanjing, China, in September. The M3 and M5 introductions form part of that plan, rather than standing alone as isolated model announcements.
According to information on MOTU Indonesia’s official website, the M Series includes the M3, M5 and M5B. The company positions that family alongside its T Series and O Series, which each have their own design character.
This structure suggests that MOTU intends to develop several product families within its Sport EV portfolio. The models named in the plan indicate a wider range of options, although the published details do not yet explain how the series will differ in specifications or market positioning.
More launches are planned through 2027
MOTU’s roadmap sets out a sequence for developing its product portfolio. The transition to the M Series and O Series is scheduled to begin on October 1, 2026, followed by the T Series on November 1, 2026.
The company also projects the arrival of the ADV, X7 and X1 models in December 2026. Beyond those products, MOTU plans a second generation of Sport EVs, including the M6, after Idulfitri 2027.
These milestones place the M3 and M5 within a longer expansion plan. They also show that MOTU is preparing to introduce vehicles across multiple series, rather than relying on a single pair of scooters to define its electric range.
Key specifications and sales details remain unconfirmed
The promotional material does not disclose battery capacity, electric motor output, riding range or maximum speed for either model. It also leaves pricing unannounced, so prospective buyers cannot yet compare the M3 and M5 on cost or performance.
MOTU has not confirmed a sales schedule or availability in Indonesia for the two scooters. The roadmap offers broad timing for other developments, but it does not settle when local customers can expect to see the M3 or M5 arrive in showrooms.
Until the company releases those details, the announcements provide an early look at design and product direction, not a complete buying picture. Riders interested in either model will need official updates to assess practical factors such as range, charging, equipment and price.
For now, the M3 and M5 show how MOTU plans to expand its Sport EV identity through models with visibly different styling. Their place in the roadmap is clear; their technical distinctions and Indonesian launch plans remain questions for future announcements.
